COLONEL ROY P. FATUR

Colonel Roy P. Fatur is the Vice Commander, Eighth Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. As a Numbered Air Force of Air Force Global Strike Command, Eighth Air Force provides long-range strike and strategic deterrence to combatant commanders worldwide. "The Mighty Eighth" oversees five Bomb Wings, comprising the United States Air Force’s bomber force of B-1, B-2 and B-52 aircraft, as well as the E-4B.


Colonel Fatur is a 1991 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. A senior navigator and combat parachutist with more than 2,000 hours and 19 jumps, he has served as the Chief of the 9th AF/USCENTAF Commander’s Action Group. He also served as the Chief of Future Operations, NORAD Operations, Peterson AFB, Colorado. Prior to his current assignment, he commanded the 11th Expeditionary Air Support Operations Squadron, Baghdad, Iraq, and the 10th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Riley, Kansas; he served as the Chief, Air Operations Coordination Centre, International Security Assistance Forces Joint Command Headquarters, Kabul, Afghanistan; and he commanded the 18th Air Support Operations Group (Airborne), Pope AAF, North Carolina.
