Ample Strike Rolls On, Second B-52 Arrives

Rivets on a B-52 Stratofortress are getting a close inspection by an Airman at Royal Air Force Fairford, United Kingdom, Sep.1, 2017. The jet had just arrived from Barksdale Air Force Base, La. to participate in exercise Ample Strike 2017. Checking rivets for wear and tear is just one of the many routine safety checks the B-52 undergoes after every flight. Ample Strike is a Czech Republic-led live-fire exercise that offers advanced Air/Land Integration training to Forward Air Controllers, Joint Terminal Attack Controllers and Close Air Support aircrews. The exercise also gives U.S. forces an opportunity to train with their NATO allies and partners while also utilizing the total force integration model in the European theater.
