Ample Strike 2017 in the Books

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jackson Stogsdill, 307th Operations Support Squadron air flight equipment technician, and Senior Master Sgt. Grady King, 307th Operations Support Squadron air flight equipment section chief, team lift the drag chute of a B-52 Stratofortress at Royal Air Force Fairford, U.K., Aug. 28, 2017. The parachute, which weighs 175 pounds, takes about an hour to unroll, inspect and re-pack for the next mission. If repairs are needed, the process can take even longer. Stogsdill and King, along with dozens of other active and Reserve Airmen, were on hand for Ample Strike 2017. Ample Strike is a Czech Republic-led live fire exercise that offers advance Air/Land Integration training to Forward Air Controllers, Joint Terminal Attack Controllers and Close Air Support aircrews. It also demonstrates the commitment between the U.S. and its European defense partners to promote regional security. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Ted Daigle/Released)
