BRIGADIER GENERAL SCHEID P. HODGES

Brig. Gen. Scheid P. Hodges is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Eighth Air Force and Joint Global Strike Operations Center at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He is responsible for assisting the commander in the management of “The Mighty Eighth,” consisting of the nation’s bomber and nuclear command and control assets.

Brig. Gen. Hodges is a distinguished graduate from Louisiana Tech University Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He earned his wings at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, and served as a T-38 First Assignment Instructor Pilot, F-16 Flight Lead and KC-135R Instructor Pilot. He has performed staff tours at the U.S. Joint Forces Command, Standing Joint Force Headquarters – Homeland Security, Seventh Air Force Headquarters and Headquarters Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. He has commanded multiple stateside and expeditionary squadrons and also served as a wing Vice Commander. He has logged more than 4,300 military flying hours in five aircraft, with a total of 349 flying combat hours in support of operations Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. In his civilian capacity, Brig. Gen. Hodges is a captain for a major commercial airline.

Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Hodges served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Air Force Reserve and Military Deputy to the Directorate of Total Force Integration, Office of the Air Force Director of Staff, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.
