BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step” Chinese proverb
2018 is finally here! Whatever kind of 2017 you had it is gone. If you had a really great year filled with amazing accomplishments and satisfaction, shake it off and set your sights on what’s ahead. If you had a terrible year last year, this is a great time to recalibrate and refocus.
New year’s bring new opportunities and new challenges. The future is unpredictable and uncertain. None of us can truly prepare for whatever life has for us this year. What we CAN do is continue to improve ourselves—our mindsets, our resolve, our faith.
In the military, while on home station we train and we prepare. We train and we emphasize readiness so that when we are needed we are ready to respond. Life is the same way. If we live our lives in an intentional way, being intentional about fostering good habits, healthy attitudes, strong families and relationships we will find ourselves much more prepared for the inevitable curveballs 2018 might hold. Happy New Year everyone!
