8th Air Force Bomb Comp
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. – Royal Air Force Vulcan bomber crews attending the 1974 SAC Bombing and Navigation Competition made a marked impression with the accuracy of their missions. Four RAF crews competed and two went home with trophies. The 230th Bomb Squadron took the Mathis Trophy for best combined mission and the 44th Bomb Squadron from Waddington, England, took the trophy for best bombing mission. (Courtesy photo)
