The original “Shakey” mascot was caught in 1951 by ammo Airmen. She originally stayed around the dorms being fed by Airmen until she started coming to ammo events and ultimately ended up in her own special pen at the 36th Munitions Squadron where the Airmen took turns feeding and caring for her 365 days a year. Shakey has become an iconic part of the 36th Munitions Squadron family and known across the Air Force as a true AMMO community legend. She is a known stop for all Munitions tours, and most visitors get to feed Shakey an apple or two while carefully leaving the pig pen. Shakey is a great morale booster, one of only two Air Force mascots, and more importantly, a valued member of the 36th Munitions family. (U.S. Air Force courtesy photo)
