BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- Airmen returned to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., in July, after a six-month deployment to the Indo-Pacific Command, in support of a Continuous Bomber Presence in that region.
While deployed, Barksdale Airmen flew hundreds of deterrence missions, were prepared to strike our enemies at a moment’s notice and maintained the B-52 Stratofortress for combat support operations.
The B-52 is in the Indo-Pacific area to show the United States’ allies that the 2nd Bomb Wing can project power at any time, if needed.
While these Airmen spend some well-earned time resting at home, the Air Force continues to deter advisories and assure allies. Whether overseas or stateside, Barksdale Airmen work to defeat our adversaries and serve as global sentinels.
