Eighth Air Force holds first quarterly Right Start at CIC
BOSSIER CITY, La. – Melissa Carpenter, wife of Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter, Eighth Air Force commander, talks to more than 15 new members of Eighth Air Force about the Eighth Air Force Spouses Club during a Right Start briefing at the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City, La., Oct. 15. This is the first Right Start briefing held at the CIC since Eighth Air Force moved off of Barksdale Air Force Base in April. The move was the result of a need to relocate and renovate facilities at Barksdale with the arrival of Air Force Global Strike Command. The Right Start brief offers Eighth Air Force newcomers an entry-level understanding of the Eighth Air Force organization, as well as a brief discussion of the “Mighty Eighth” history and legacy.
