Modified Hercules
LAKE MEAD, Ariz. -- An EC-130E Airborne Battlefield Command and Control Center from the 42nd Airborne Command and Control Squadron, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., flies a training mission over Lake Mead, Ariz., on Dec. 19, 1999. The squadron's seven EC-130E Hercules aircraft have been modified to carry the Airborne Battlefield Command and Control Center capsule which houses a 12-person battle staff. The battle staff includes operations, intelligence and communications people to provide unified and theater commanders capabilities for combat operations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
