8 AF Headquarters renovations
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. – Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter, Eighth Air Force commander, speaks during the groundbreaking ceremony on the $25 million renovation to the new Eighth Air Force Headquarters building on Barksdale Air Force Base Oct. 4. The renovation project covers more than 77,000 square feet of office space. Once completed, the headquarters will be equipped with the modern, state-of-the-art communications and information security systems needed to support one of our nation’s most important missions – the mission of nuclear deterrence and global strike operations.
