World War II veteran takes final trip to where memories were made

HOLYOKE, Mass. –Retired Tech. Sgt. Emil Dihlmann poses for a picture with his great granddaughter at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke, Mass., in early 2013. Dihlmann served at RAF Alconbury from 1943 to 1945 and he had such fond memories of his time there that his family asked if they could spread his ashes on the base after he passed away June 27 at the age of 96.
