422nd ABG, Helmdon village honor those lost almost 70 years ago

HELMDON, United Kingdom – The 422nd Air Base Group Honor Guard presents the colors during the singing of the U.S. National Anthem during a memorial service in the Parish Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Helmdon Nov. 2. The ceremony honored the 327th Bombardment Squadron, VIII Bomber Command, Airmen killed Nov. 30, 1943, when they left RAF Poddington on a bombing mission to Germany, and their plane crashed at Astwell Castle Farms.
