Sixth Castle Coombe mess cup comes home
The Maj. Clarence Mason cup is the sixth cup from the Castle Coombe mess toast in 1943. World War II Gen. Ira Eaker raised a toast with eight fellow officers in hopes of victory during the war. Eaker donated the bowl, ladle, and cup to Eighth Air Force April 28, 1981. To date, six of the nine cups are now located in the Eighth Air Force headquarters.
