8th Air Force honors WWII bomber vet
Eighth Air Force historian, Lane Callaway, right, presents a letter of appreciation and commemorative coin on behalf of Maj. Gen. James Dawkins, Jr., 8th Air Force commander, to Army Air Corps First Lt. John Willis, Jr., at his home in Minden, La., Dec. 10. Willis is a World War II vet who was assigned to the 728th Bomb Squadron and is a Distinguished Flying Cross recipient.
