Maj. Gen. Jason Armagost, commander Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center will activate the 95th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, March 28, 2025, at 9:50 a.m.

The activation ceremony for the 95th Wing will be accompanied by the inactivation of the 595th Command and Control Group (C2G) and a change of command for the National Airborne Operations Center.

“I have witnessed first-hand the professionalism, tenacity and skill the men and women of the 595th C2G have exhibited over their storied history,” said Armagost. “As the group is inactivated and becomes the 95th Wing, I am confident in their ability to continue their tradition of excellence.”

Once activated, the 95th Wing will focus on providing combatant commanders with assured command and control (C2) over assigned forces through global command, control, and communication (C3) capabilities. Additionally, the unit will organize, train, and equip the total force to execute strategic requirements as set forth by commanders.

The wing, which falls under Eighth Air Force and Air Force Global Strike Command, will incorporate existing disaggregate units from the 595th Command and Control Group at Offutt AFB, Nebraska; the 253rd Command and Control Group, of the Wyoming Air National Guard; and the 610th Command and Control Squadron, Air Force Reserve Command, at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, to form an integrated unit.

Media are welcome to attend the ceremony. RSVPs must be received by Wednesday, March 19. A brief interview opportunity with the commander will be offered directly following the ceremony.
